My name is Owen Nettle and I am a filmmaker primarily based on the Isle of Man who studied Film Production at the University of Staffordshire for three years where I seized the opportunities to stretch myself and my skills to new heights in the filmmaking discipline. Trying my hand at various styles, genres and equipment has transformed the person I was before then into someone who now feels well at home on a film set.

Mixed in with my love of filmmaking is my passion for Formula 1 and motorsports, which once led to me creating an hour-long documentary on people I know who watch it religiously like I do during my gap year. In addition to this, I have been incredibly fortunate enough to fill roles such as Production Assistant, Camera Assistant and Media Ingest Worker for the motorsport broadcast company Greenlight TV. Something that has also played a considerable role in equipping me with the relevant skills and experience to succeed in multiple areas of the media industry.

 

I currently work full-time as a Customer Service Executive at Plan.com which allows me to bring forward my abilities in juggling multiple things at once as well as working with colleagues and customers alike to get to the bottom of whatever problems get thrown at me. Although, it is alongside this that I am working towards the long-term goal of progressing into being the figurehead of my own business with this site being the centre for all things, Nettle Directs!
